About Darling

Darling is a dark comedy about the last remaining abortion clinic in a town of the same name. Developed with comedian Molly Gaebe and based on many of our own real life experiences, Darling was a 2020 winner of Yes and Laughter Lab’s competitive incubation program.

How Darling Began

I met Molly when I was working in abortion as a registered nurse at Planned Parenthood in New York City and Molly was there working as an abortion doula.  Both writers and advocates for abortion access, we’ve seen a lot of interesting stuff between the two of of us. We’d talk during our shifts about how we couldn’t believe there hasn’t been a series about a reproductive health clinic—so, we made it!

Darling tells the stories of the people who work in the field of reproductive health, but it also shines a light on the people who get abortions—and that’s everyone. Black, white, rich, poor, trans men, queer women, parents, lawyers, acrobats, accountants, Satanists, Catholics. So many Catholics. Everyone gets abortions! And, shocker, much more than abortion happens in abortion clinics. At Darling, they’ll treat your terrible UTI, manage your miscarriage, and calm you down the third time you get chlamydia.

We’ve got a television show about a doctor who just pops pimples for God’s sake. The world is ready for this show.

Partnership with KAL Media + Next Steps

Thanks to our developing producers, Kristin Krall and Anna Lauren Tufekci at KAL Media, we’d like to think we’ve nailed the story, characters, and world of Darling and are ready to share our baby with the world. At this time, we’re looking for a production partner to help us get this show off the ground. Whether that looks like a production company, an EP or a veteran showrunner, we’re interested in meeting with you!

Let’s Talk, Darling.

If you’re looking to discuss Darling’s next steps and think you’ve got the help that we’re looking for please reach out!
