Hey, New Friend!

I’m Sally! I’m a writer, registered nurse, and overall creative lady living in Detroit, Michigan.

I’ve written for both the beauty and healthcare industries and have worked in reproductive care for nearly a decade as a doula, nurse, and advocate for abortion access.

I was a 2020 winner of Yes and Laughter Lab's competitive incubation program for my work, Darling, a dark comedy about the last remaining abortion clinic in a town of the same name. My poetry collaboration with designer and illustrator Sarah Reynolds has been featured in New York Magazine's The Strategist.

An oversharer since childhood, I have found endless ways to express myself creatively. From seeking out media training as a child to crafting news pieces for public radio in my early 20s, writing has been a consistent facet in my life. These days I write mostly about reproductive health and create thematic poetry around shady ladies and unrequited lust.

I am an unapologetically emotional gal who values authenticity, eating dessert before dinner, and dance music.
