Hi Friends!

I’m a writer, creative, and registered nurse living in Detroit, Michigan. I’ve written for both the beauty and healthcare industries and have worked in reproductive health for nearly a decade as a doula, nurse, and advocate for abortion access.

Abortion Advocacy

With my favorite patients in mind, I create content for brands, healthcare organizations, and start-ups like Hey Jane, a groundbreaking telehealth medication abortion service. In my work as an abortion advocate, I aim to de-stigmatize and normalize abortion.

Darling

Darling is a dark episodic comedy series about the last remaining abortion clinic in the fictional town of Darling. Written and created in partnership with Molly Gaebe, Darling was a 2020 winner of Yes and Laughter Lab’s competitive incubation program.

Essay Work and Creative Coordination

Working with muralist, graffiti artist, and fine art painter, Marcus “Grabster” Borges, I assist in navigating the world of cold calls, grants, and content creation. With ACT Magazine, I authored an essay on the artist, highlighting the multi-talented creative’s recent mural and fine art work.

Art in many forms has always been a way to flex, no matter the crowd Grabster’s with. Mostly self-taught out of necessity, he developed his skills in his own neighborhood. “It was me and all the other poor kids, but we didn’t know we were poor—we just made it work. It’s the history of hip-hop.”

Poetry

An oversharer since childhood, the themes of my narrative heavy poetry explore introspection, personal history, and the often painful exploration of intimacy. My work has been featured in various mediums including spoken word for musical artists. You can find more information about this work below.
